The vision tool shows what Bonaire could look like in 2050 if the island were to be nature inclusive. Based on the knowledge and experiences of local experts, researchers and decision makers, this tool offers a new inspiring story for Bonaire, in which prosperity, heritage, a pleasant living environment and nature conservation go hand in hand. The information in the tool comes from the report Bonaire 2050 - a nature inclusive vision (WUR, 2020) .
You can use the vision tool if you are looking for Nature-based Solutions on Bonaire. On Bonaire you will find different landscapes, such as dry cactus forests, coral coasts, reefs with enormous biodiversity and the vast salt pans in the south. In the tool, Bonaire is divided into 12 areas for which you can find Nature-based Solutions: from wind energy to cool homes in Kralendijk to reforestation in the northern hills.
On each of the twelve areas in the vision tool you can click. A visualization of a cut-out of this type of landscape will appear with different Nature-based Solutions.
